You are not the first couple to be in this predicament and you surely will not be the last. Here are some considerations of both solo and couples tintype portraits to help you decide.
Solo Tintype Portraits

If you cannot decide whether to go with a solo or a couples portrait, get both made. I know, I know.. it is pretty rich that the guy who benefits financially the more tintypes you get is recommending you have more made. But I have had a few sessions where this was done and the results are fantastic. It covers every base and makes a collection of heirloom portraits.
